La Liga Review: Phenomenal Griezmann Scores Four As Atletico Cut Gap On Leaders Barcelona

French forward Antoine Griezmann continued his fine form for his Atletico Madrid side as he scored four goals to lead the capital club to a 4-0 home victory over Leganes in a Matchday 26 Spanish La Liga match played on Wednesday night.

The former Real Sociedad star netted a brace in each half to help his side cut the gap to league leaders Barcelona to four points with the Catalan giants scheduled to play strugglers Las Palmas on Thursday night.

Griezmann has now scored 7 goals in the last two league games.

In the pick of the other games on Thursday, Athletic Bilbao denied Valencia the chance to leapfrog Real Madrid into third spot after both sides played out a 1-1 draw.

Geoffrey Kondogbia gave the visitors the lead on 23 minutes before defender Oscar De Marcos earned the share of the spoils for Bilbao with a 49th minute equaliser after leading scorer Aritz Aduriz had missed a glorious opportunity to put the hosts level from the spot in the first half.
