Girona have moved into the top six on the Spanish La Liga table following their straightforward 2-0 home win over struggling outfit Deportivo La Coruna in a Matchday 28 clash played on Friday night.

A goal in each half from Christian Stuani and Juanpe handed the three points at stake to the Catalan outfit to further heap more misery on Deportivo and their coach Clarence Seedorf.

With the win, Girona (43 points) climb above Villarreal (41 points) into 6th spot while Deportivo (19 points) stay in second bottom (19th) and two points from safety.
