La Liga: Atletico End Sevilla’s Unbeaten Start To Go Second

Atletico Madrid have leapfrogged Sevilla into second spot in the Spanish La Liga after they defeated them 2-0 at home thus ending their unbeaten start to the season under new manager Eduardo Berizzo.

Belgian forward Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco gave Atletico the lead just after halftime after pouncing on a mistake from Steven N’zonzi before star player Antoine Griezmann added a second goal in the 69th minute to ensure that the home team would take the three maximum points at stake.

The win takes Atletico Madrid to 14 points and within one point of league leaders Barcelona (15 points) while Sevilla drop from 2nd to 3rd position with 13 points.
