
NBA outfit, Los Angeles Lakers will retire Kobe Bryant’s number 8 and 24 jerseys later this year.
39-year-old Bryant, who played his entire 20-year career with the LA Lakers 1996 to 2016, retired from basketball in April 2106.
Lakers Chief Executive, Jeanie Buss said: “Kobe’s jerseys are taking their rightful home next to the greatest Lakers of all time,”
Kobe Bryant won five NBA title with the Lakers becoming their all-time point scorer with 33,643 points and also third on the NBA’s all-time list.
“I always dreamed of my jersey hanging in the Lakers rafters, but I certainly never imagined two of them,” a delighted Kobe explained.
The ceremony to retire the jerseys will take place on 18 December during the half time of Laker’s NBA game against Golden State Warriors.
