Keeping Sanchez Is Not “Financially Ideal” – Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has admitted that keeping Alexis Sanchez is not financially “ideal”, prepares to lose the Chilean for free next season.

28-year-old Sanchez, who has refused to sign a contract extension with the Gunners, heads into the last year of his current Arsenal deal and have been reportedly linked to Manchester City all summer.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Wenger said: ““Look, let’s not be wrong, it’s not an ideal situation on the financial side and it demands some sacrifice but first of all it doesn’t mean the players who are in the final year of their contract will not extend their contract.”

“You have still that possibility and we work on that as well.”

Arsene Wenger has repeatedly insisted that the forward will see out his current contract at the Emirates, should he not sign a new deal, declaring that his “decision is clear, he will stay and he will respect that”.
