Kebbi Beach Soccer Association Fail To Pay Sallah Tournament Winners (Audio)

The Kebbi Beach Soccer Association has failed to honour the payment promise made to prize winners from the Sallah tournament held in June.

The association is an affiliate of the Kebbi State Football Association.

Kebbi State Sallah Tournament (KBSST) 2018, which was the 4th edition of the tournament, was held from June 16 to June 18 and the first two teams at the end of the competition were promised the sum of $3,000 each.

KBSST 2018 was initially scheduled to hold from the 15th of June through to the 17th of June.

According to the organisers, the tournament was endorsed by both the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the Kebbi State Government and it featured players from home and abroad.

The failure to pay winners was conveyed in a letter signed by the tournament’s Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chairman, Mahmud Hadejia and dated August 16, 2018.

According to Mahmud, this was due to tournament sponsors’ inability to meet budget requirements.

Kebbi Beach Soccer Association official, Yushua Bada Bagado said he didn’t know much about the tournament when busybuddiesng.com contacted and that the LOC Chairman is in the best position to speak on the payment matter.

All efforts to contact Mahmud Hadejia, however, proved abortive.
