Karate: African Champion Ogene Set Gold Medal Target At All Africa Games

Africa Zone 3 UFAK champion, Ifeanyi Ogene (-67kg) has declared his readiness to fly Nigeria’s colours at the 2019 All Africa Games in Morocco.

The UFAK Zone 3 gold medalist announced that he has already resumed training in a bid to ensure a successful 2019 season.

The seven-time National champion said triumphing at UFAK Zone 3 Championship in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire has filled him with confidence and belief to target a gold medal at the games in Morocco.

“My target for 2019 is to participate and win medals for Nigeria at the 2019 All Africa Games in Morocco,” he said.

“I am working hard and preparing more to be the champion of my weight class and I believe that God will make my dreams come true.”

He also commended the board of Karate Federation of Nigeria for ensuring the wellbeing of athletes which he believes will help them excel in Morocco.

“My appreciation goes to the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN) led by Silas Agara for creating an enabling environment for the athletes as well the technical director and the national coaches for ensuring that we the athletes are made their number one priority.

I believe Nigeria athletes will excel at the forthcoming All Africa Games.”
