Kano Pillars Set Up Committee to End Fan Violence at Stadiums

In a bid to bring an end to violence and fans encroachment before, during and after matches, Kano Pillars FC has set up a five-man sensitization committee to look into the remote causes and bring solutions to it.

According to a statement signed by the club’s Media Officer, Alhaji Rilwanu Idris Malikawa Garu and made available to www.kano-pillars.com, the committee has Professor Musa Garba Yakasai as chairman with club secretary Sayyadi Abdullahi to serve as secretary of the committee.

While vice-chairman, Kano Pillars Supporters club, Alhaji Kabiru Lawan Fagge, Alhaji Rabi’u Abdullahi and chairman, Kano State Referees council Alhaji Nasiru Ibrahim Muhammad are to serve as members of the committee.

According to the chairman of the club  Alhaji Surajo Sha’ibu Yahaya, the committee is mandated to come out with modalities and new ideas that would help in educating the teeming fans of the club about the new rules of the game.

Alhaji Surajo Shu’ibu Yahaya said setting up the committee is necessary considering the task ahead of the Sai Masu Gida which is representing the country in the upcoming  2019/2020 CAF Champions League and has charged the committee members to work tireless to ensure that they come up with recommendations that would help in reviving the glory of the club’s  supporters club in the nearest possible feature.

The chairman said his administration would not tolerate any acts of indiscipline from the fans and urged other stakeholders to cooperate with the committee and the management of the club as a whole.

He also said that what happened in Lagos and Kaduna during the Super Six and the Federation Cup final is a wake-up call to his Board and such behaviour would not be accepted.

“Encroachment of the pitch of play during our matches at home or away will not be accepted and anybody found wanting shall be dealt with accordingly, the chairman emphasised.

The committee is expected to submit its report before the CAF Champions League first leg encounter against Asante Kotoko of Ghana at the famous Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata to be decided on Saturday the 10th of August, 2019.

The 2019 Aiteo Cup champions are currently camping in Kaduna and will soon arrive the Pyramid City for the all-important clash against the Porcupines.
