Juventus Star Lemina Set For Southampton Medical

Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina is reportedly set for a medical with Southampton on Sunday after they agreed a £13.5m with the Italian champions.

According to popular media outlet ESPN, sources close to the 23-year old revealed that Southampton have won the race for him ahead of league rivals Stoke City.

The Potters were favourites for his signature before Southampton usurped them in the battle for the Gabonese international.

Lemina is now expected to be Southampton’s second major signing of the summer after defender Jan Bedranek, who joined from Polish side Lech Poznan on a five-year deal.

The midfielder signed for Juventus in 2015 and endured lack of playing time under manager Maximiliano Allegri prompting his desire to secure a transfer from the club.

In two seasons with Juventus, he has won two Serie A titles as well as two Coppa Italia crowns and has scored 3 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions.
