Joe Aribo’s Title Ambitions Dented As Rangers Lose Again

Joe Aribo’s hopes of winning the Scottish Premiership suffered a severe blow on Wednesday as his Rangers side were beaten 2-1 by Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

Aribo who has scored twice and weighed in with 8 assists in 23 league appearances was on for 84 minutes before being substituted as Rangers’ rough patch continued.

The Glasgow side actually went in front through a superb Scott Arfield strike in the 32nd minute.

But the home side rallied in the final 11 minutes to draw level through Stephen O’Donnell 77th minute goal and then secure all three points through Eammon Brophy’s winner two minutes from time.

The loss meant the chasm between second-placed Rangers who have 60 points after 25 games and leaders Celtic widened to 10 points although the Gers have a game in hand.

Steven Gerrard’s side have now dropped points in three out of their last five games.

And with Celtic who beat Hearts 5-0 at home on Wednesday in such rampant form, it appears Rangers’ title drought is set to extend for a ninth year.
