Iwobi Outshines Ndidi, Iheanacho As Everton Beat Leicester

Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi won the battle of Nigerians in the Premier League as his assist helped Everton triumph over Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho’s Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday.

Iwobi was making his sixth start in the league and notched his second assist in twelve appearances when he laid on for Richarlison to open scoring in the 21st minute.

Defender Mason Holgate then doubled the visitor’s lead in the 72nd minute.

Ndidi had started in defence for the Foxes while Kelechi Iheanacho was introduced in the 77th minute as the hosts sought a way back.

Leicester had a penalty overturned by VAR and a late rally failed to materialise as Everton claimed a second win on the bounce after an excellent win over Chelsea at the weekend.

Defeat meant the Foxes missed the chance to go second and they remain in 4th place e with 24 points after 13 games.

Everton, meanwhile, move up to 5th with 23 points.
