Ivorian Star Doumbia Completes Girona Move

Ivorian international striker Seydou Doumbia has completed his transfer to Spanish La Liga outfit Girona from AS Roma.

Doumbia, 30, joins the Catalan side from the Italian Serie A club after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.

He had just one year left on his contract with Roma.

The 36-cap Ivorian star had earlier moved to Italy from CSKA Moscow on a four-and-a-year contract worth €14.4m plus €1.5m in add-ons.

He was then sent on loan to clubs like Newcastle United and FC Basel.

Seydou Doumbia spent last season on loan at Portuguese Super League outfit Sporting Lisbon and failed to score any goal in 14 league appearances.

Since making his debut against Japan in 2008, Doumbia has scored nine goals in 36 matches for Ivory Coast.
