Veteran Macedonia striker Goran Pandev was the hero for Genoa as he scored the only goal of the game to give his side a crucial 1-0 win at Hellas Verona.

Pandev netted his first goal of the season on the stroke of halftime to hand Genoa the maximum points to maintain their unbeaten run under new coach Davide Ballardini (3 wins and 1 draw).

The win takes Genoa (13 points) three points clear of the relegation zone and up by two places to 15th position while Hellas Verona (9 points) stay in the relegation zone (19th spot).

In the other game on Monday, Udinese thrashed their hosts Crotone 3-0 courtesy goals from Jakub Jankto (2) and Kevin Lasagna.

Udinese stay in 14th place with 15 points despite the win while Crotone drop from 15th to 16th position with 12 points as a result of the heavy defeat.
