Italian Serie A Review: 2-1 Home Win Dominates Saturday Matches

2-1 home victory was a familiar pattern for Saturday games in the Italian Serie A with wins for title contenders Napoli and AS Roma.

Napoli defeated struggling AC Milan 2-1 at home courtesy goals from Lorenzo Insigne and Piotr Zielinski either side of halftime before the late consolation for Milan from a Romagnoli volley.

The win was enough to move Maurizio Sarri’s side four points clear of nearest challengers and Italian champions Juventus in the race for the Scudetto though the Old Lady can cut that lead to one point if they win at sixth-placed Sampdoria.

In the other game played earlier, AS Roma edged rivals Lazio 2-1 in the Rome Derby with goals from Diego Perrotti (penalty) and Radja Naingollan in four second half minutes. Ciro Immobile pulled one back from the spot for the visitors but their opponents held on for a very good win.

AS Roma (30 points)leapfrog both Lazio and Inter Milan to move into the top 3 with Simone Inzaghi’s men dropping one place to 5th spot on the log after 28 points from 12 games.
