INSIDE AFCON 2019: Salah to Miss Egypt’s Clash with South Africa

Egypt’s Mohamed Salah missed yesterday’s training session ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 as he is suffering from a cold, according to Kingfut.

In a late scare for the Pharaohs, Salah may be a doubt for the round of 16 clash with South Africa as he is currently ill with a cold.

The Liverpool star has had a good start to his Africa Cup of Nations campaign, scoring twice in three games, however, he has still not quite hit the heights that we all know he can achieve so far.

This may be an indicator that he has been suffering from this cold for around a week, although this is currently unknown.

While other players such as Trezeguet and even Ahmed Elmohamady have stepped up on the attacking side of things, Salah would be a huge miss, especially against a side with as much quality as South Africa who are arguably a cut above everyone that Egypt have faced already this summer.

While reports on Salah’s condition remains closely guarded, the match is scheduled for 8pm on Saturday, July 6 at the Cairo International Stadium.
