Young Nigerian tennis sensation Gabriel Inyang continued his rich vein of form during his summer training tour of the United States (US) after he retained the Feinberg 12 and Under 12 tournament which took place at the Brant Lake Camp in New York.
Inyang defeated his American opponent Alex Weinberg 6-0 6-3 in less than an hour in what was a one-sided clay court.
The Victoria Garden City Club of Lagos player was very impressive during the tournament which played host to 32 players. He didn’t drop a single set en route his title win.
Inyang had earlier beaten Weinberg in the final of the Beco Tournament some three weeks ago. Both Feinberg Junior Tournament and Beco Junior Tournament were organised by the United States Tennis Association.
Speaking about Inyang, a UK-based tennis pro at the camp Jon Bradley said: “I have had to oversee a talented young player who is also matured beyond his years. I have been extremely impressed with his attitude during training and during matches. He is always calm under pressure and continues to fight even when he is down.
“Gabriel is an extremely promising young player who possesses all the right traits to make it far in tennis if he is motivated.” he added.
