Ikechukwu Ezenwa completes Medical at Katsina United, to become highest paid player

Former Enyimba FC shot-stopper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, has emerged the highest paid player at Katsina United after signing a two-year contract with the NPFL side.

Busybuddiesng.com gathered that the Super Eagles goalkeeper has signed for ‘The Changi Boys’ after he had passed a routine medical on Thursday in Katsina.

Ezenwa joined Katsina as a free agent after his contract with Enyimba FC expired.

Although the Super Eagles star’s salary was not publicly announced, he is set to become the highest earning player at the club ahead of the likes of CHAN capped star midfielder, Destiny Ashadi.

Before now the highest paid players at Katsina United received ₦350,000 a month.

It was also gathered that Ezenwa could earn up to ₦450,000 monthly, which is a little above 50% of the initial ₦700,000 he demanded during negotiations with the club.

Katsina United now boast of two internationals in the goalkeeping department, which Ezenwa will have to battle for the No 1 shirt with Niger international Kassaly Daouda, former U17 and U20 Nigeria international Dami Paul as well as long-serving Yinka David.
