IHF World Youth Championship: Nigeria’s U19 National Male Cadet Team Target Final

The national under 19 male handball team have set a target of reaching the final and winning the IHF World Youth Championship which is underway in Macedonia.

The coach of the team Emeka Nnamani on Sunday promised that his team will repay the effort of the president of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, Mr. Samuel Ocheho to prepare the team for the world championships by winning the competition.

This was also re-echoed by one of the players of the cadet team, Ekpodio Ebinatei who praised the HFN President for giving them everything to prepare for the competition and promised to win the competition despite the target of quarter-finals given to the team by Sam Ocheho.

“The HFN President gave a target of reaching the quarter-final at least but we the players are gunning for the finals,” Ebinatem said.

“We have had experience of attending international competitions like the IHF Intercontinental Challenge Trophy in Kosovo earlier in the year and we know what it takes to compete against the best” He concluded.

The National Under 18 team left the shores of the country on Sunday for the world championships and will play Bahrain in the first game before playing host Macedonia, Japan, Argentina, and Denmark.
