Iheanacho Could Face Brighton Despite Broken Hand

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho might feature in his Leicester City side’s Premier League clash against Brighton at the weekend despite breaking his hand while on international duty with Nigeria.

Iheanacho, 21, fell and fractured his first metacarpal bone before the injury ruled him out of Nigeria’s 2-0 defeat to Serbia on Tuesday night.

The former Manchester City star returned to Leicester duty on Thursday with his club manager Claude Puel revealing during his pre-match press conference that the club would assess him.

Speaking about Kelechi Iheanacho ahead of the Brighton game, Claude Puel said: “We will see about Iheanacho because he has a broken hand.”

“We will see if he can play with his injury. We will see tomorrow (Friday) in the training session.

“I think he fell. It’s not an important injury. We will see if this injury prevents him from playing in this game. Perhaps it might be strange for him to play with a cast.” he concluded.
