Ibom Angels Appoint New Coach After Ogbonda’s Exit (AUDIO)

Nigeria Women Premier League side, Ibom Angels has appointed a new Technical Adviser to guide the Orange Girls in the 2019 NWPL season.

The appointment is coming eight days after former coach of the club, Whyte Ogbonda was unveiled at Confluence Queens Football Club of Lokoja.

Ogbonda in his two-year stint guided the club into the finals of the 2017 and 2018 editions of the  Aiteo Cup tourney but on both occasions lost the trophy to Rivers Angels.

However, despite his successful campaign in the Aiteo Cup, Ogbonda could not ensure Ibom Angels qualification for the NWPL’s Super Four all through his stay at Uyo.

Media Department of the club, Ibom Angels Media House made information available on Tuesday about the appointment of a new Technical Adviser in person of Adeyemo Murufu.

Speaking to Busybuddies, Media Officer of the club, Ini Akang explained that the management of the club will communicate a proper date for the unveiling of the former Sunshine Queens Coach.

“Coach Adeyemo Mufuru was introduced to the employers for now and will be meeting with the Commissioner(of Youths and Sports) as I am being told but for now he’s yet to be presented to the backroom staff, press and general public,” Ini explained when asked about details of the contract.

“I believe Coach Adeyemo Mufuru will be a good one for us considering his experiences being at the F.A Cup finals once with Sunshine Queens, coaching Taraba and (stints at) other profile of his(FCT, Adamawa and Osun).” Ini expressed optimism.
