Two officials of the  Nigerian Hockey Federation (NHF) have been tasked by the Africa Hockey Federation (AfHF) with overseeing the Men’s Category in the forthcoming Olympics qualifiers tagged “African Hockey Road to Tokyo” which has been fixed for Potchefstroom, South Africa later this year.

Professor. Ediga Agbo who is the Chairman, Technical & Member of the NHF, as well as a member of the AfHF Executive Committee, will serve as the Umpires’ Manager while fellow NHF member, Dr. Walter Imoedemhe who also doubles as the National Coordinator of  Nigeria Hockey Masters will be the Tournament Official.

The qualifiers which includes both men and women categories will begin on August 12th and end on August 18th.

Nigeria’s men and women national hockey teams are expected to vie for the slots to represent Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics against the likes of South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya.
