HOCKEY: GRA on the way as Sharkia gun for 24th ACCC title, Nigerian teams miss out on podium

There will be no place on the podium for any of the Nigerian male teams as both Niger Flickers and Kada Stars missed out on medal places.

Until this morning, Niger Flickers had a chance of making it to the 3 – 4th classification place but missed out after suffering 4-3 loss to Exchequers of Ghana.

Kada Stars also failed to make the podium after suffering defeats in all their games although they gave a spirited performance in losing 2 – 1 in their last match against GRA who have booked a place in the final where they will tackle 23-time champions, El-Sharkia.

GRA will hope to land a first Africa Cup for Club Champions (ACCC) title for Ghana while Sharkia seek a 24th title.

Eastern Company and Exchequers will fight for the bronze place while the Nigerian teams will battle for the 5th and 6th places.

It is a similar situation for Nigerian teams in the female category as both Kada Queens and Delta Queens missed out on podium places.

Telkom will battle GRA Ladies in the final while debutants USIU will play Ghana Police for a bronze medal place while the Nigerian teams will battle for the 5-6th places.
