Day two of the first phase of the 2019 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League carried on in much the same fashion as day one with Kano Pillars earning a second straight win in the tournament with a 29-21 victory over COAS Shooters while De Defenders dug deep to score a narrow 29-24 win over Kada Stars in the men’s category at the Velodrome in the National Stadium, Abuja.

Also on day two, Bornu Spiders earned a first win with a 33-29 victory over Sokoto Rima while defending champions Niger United, bounced back from suffering a walk over on the opening day to record an emphatic 41-20 victory over Plateau Vipers. 

Lagos Seasiders shook off their day one loss to defeat Prison Key Boys 42-31 while Safety Shooters inflicted a second consecutive defeat on Owena Kings with an easy 42-31 victory.

In the women category, Seasiders Babes of Lagos brushed aside Akure’s Owena Queens 41-21 victory while defending champions Plateau Peacocks finally got their title defence going after a draw on day one by defeating Defender Babes 27-20.

Edo Dynamos defeated Desert Queens 36-19 in the last game in the women’s category on day two.
