Kano Pillars have shot to the top in the men’s category of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League Phase one holding at the Velodrome in the National Stadium in Abuja after they defeated previous leaders Safety Shooters on Wednesday.

Pillars dethroned Safety Shooters in a 25-20 victory to move to16 points, two points clear of second-placed FRSC.

In other games in the male category, Kada Stars defeated Owena Kings 38-36 while De Defenders defeated Prison Key Boys 36-26.

Bornu Spiders and Plateau Vipers played out to a 26-26 draw game while defending champions Niger United defeated Lagos Seasiders 37-33.

COAS Shooters meanwhile demolished Sokoto Rima 32-24.
