Handball Nations Cup: Nigeria Lose To Hosts Cameroon In Last Eight

Nigeria slumped to a heavy defeat against hosts Cameroon in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Africa Handball Championship on Tuesday.

Rafiu Salami’s side were handed a thorough doing over in losing 44-14 at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex.

Nigeria had only qualified for the last eight as one of two lucky losers from the group stage but will go no farther on their return to the tournament after a near-three decade absence.

Their second loss to the hosts following a loss in the group stage means Nigeria will now play a classification match against Senegal on Wednesday to determine their final tournament standing.
