Nigeria recovered from an opening defeat at the IHF Emerging Nations Tournament in Georgia to play out a thrilling 31-31 draw against Ireland in their second match on Sunday.

The national U23 male team, shook off a 27-14 loss to hosts Georgia to force a draw against a well experienced and formidable Irish side.

Obinna Ani was adjudged the man of the match for Nigeria against the Irish while Adamalugbe Ola Babatunde was voted Nigeria’s best player in their loss to Georgia.

Nigeria continue their campaign against Bulgaria later today.
