Granit Xhaka Signs New Long-Term Contract At Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has signed a new long-term contract at the club.

The 25-year-old has been a mainstay in the Gunners team since he joined the club from German Bundesliga side Borussia Moenchengladbach in 2016.

He has made 94 appearances for the North London side.

In addition, he featured in all of last season’s Premier League games, starting in 37 out of 38 league games.

On Granit Xhaka signing a new deal, newly appointed head coach Unai Emery said: “I’m delighted that Granit has extended his contract with us. He’s an important member of the squad and is still young so will be able to develop even more. I hope he has a successful World Cup with Switzerland and comes back fit and ready for the new season.”

Granit Xhaka is presently with the Swiss national team at the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Switzerland is in Group E alongside Brazil, Serbia and Costa Rica.
