Nine Manchester United academy players have been allowed to leave Old Trafford as their agreement with the club expires on Tuesday.
Angel Gomes is the only first-team United player who is expected to become a free agent after Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed the 21-year-old and his team had not responded positively to the new contract offered by the club.
Aidan Will, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Alex Fojticek, Ethan Hamilton, Kieran Michael, Dion Alex, Demetri Kareem. Heorge Tanner and Largie Ramazani are the nine players leaving Manchester.
The club has promised to ease the departure of the players by providing financial support alongside a training programme three months into the start of a new football season.
“We don’t think it’s right that boys just disappear. This club’s a family, right? This club looks after its family members.
“The last thing we should be doing in this situation is delivering bad news and releasing boys into the unknown, really, because it’s going to be such a difficult time for young players that are out of contract once the season picks up again.” Head of academy Nick Cox said.
