German Bundesliga Recap: Gladbach Beat Augsburg To Secure Top Four Place; Leverkusen Into Second Spot After Emphatic Win

Borussia Moenchengladbach have moved into the Champions League places after a straightforward 2-0 win over Augsburg at home leapfrogged them over both Borussia rivals, Dortmund, and Schalke 04 into 4th place.

Goals either side of halftime from Mathias Ginter and Thorgan Hazard secured victory for the home side.

Bayer Leverkusen have moved three places up into second spot after Argentina striker Lucas Alario scored twice to propel his side to a 4-1 win at TSG Hoffenheim.

Bottom club FC Cologne have moved to within four points of the Bundesliga relegation/promotion playoff presently occupied by Werder Bremen following a 2-0 at Hamburg.

In-form striker Simon Terodde scored a brace either side of halftime to lead his side to victory.
