Gambian Coach Arthur Jackson Shifts Medal Hope To 200m In Asaba (Audio)

Gambian coach Arthur Jackson has switched his focus to the 200m event at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championship holding at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State.

Gambian athletes have been hugely disappointing in Asaba with the country’s last medal hope now resting solely on Adama Jammeh and co. in the 200m.

Speaking about the performance of the Gambian contingent to the ongoing Athletics Championship, Arthur Jackson said: “They have not lived up to the expectation we had when we left but then given the prevailing circumstances , that’s what they can achieve.”

“We continue to be very hopeful and anticipate the 200m that things might improve.” Jackson added.

Star athlete Adama Jammeh won silver at the last edition of the Athletics Championship in Durban, South Africa and Jackson would be hoping he can repeat or better that feat in the 200m.
