Fulham Sign Seri In Major Transfer Coup

Newly promoted Premier League side Fulham have completed the signing of highly rated Ivorian midfielder Jean Michel Seri from French Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice.

The 26-year-old joins the Cottagers after putting pen to paper on a four-year deal with the London club.

Fulham reportedly saw off competition from fellow London teams Arsenal and Chelsea by swiftly activating his £35m release clause before it expires on Sunday.

He’s the club’s first signing since they secured Premier League promotion in May courtesy a 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the Championship Playoff final.

Jean Michel Seri joined Nice from Pacos de Ferreira in 2015 and went on to score 11 goals in 101 league appearances for last season’s UEFA Europa League (UEL) campaigners.

He has been capped by Ivory Coast on 16 occasions since making his debut against Sierra Leone in 2015.
