OGC Nice have won their first league game in the new season following their stunning 1-0 victory at Olympique Lyon on Friday night.

This season’s Champions League campaigners were massive favourites ahead of the clash played at the Groupama Stadium but ended up losing despite dominating play for long periods.

French winger Allan Irenee Saint-Maximin scored the only goal of the game to give Nice their first league victory of the new season at the fourth time of asking.

The result takes the away side four places out of the relegation zone (from 18th to 14th spot) with four points from four league games, while Lyon (six points) drop from fourth to fifth position.
