French champions AS Monaco have qualified for the semifinal of the League Cup following their 2-1 win at OGC Nice on Tuesday night.

Reported Arsenal and Liverpool target Thomas Lemar edged the visitors into the lead before Nice star Alassane Plea levelled proceedings for his side.

Monaco re-established their lead through French striker Adama Diakhaby with eight first half minutes left and thereafter held on till the end of the game for a vital win.

The victory means Monaco become the first team to qualify for the last four of this season’s French League Cup.
