Third tier club Les Herbiers VF have booked their place in the semifinals of the French Cup after they saw off a more fancied side Lens on penalties in their quarterfinal clash on Tuesday evening.

Both sides played out a goalless affair in regulation time and extra time before Les Herbiers defeated their second tier opponents Lens 4-2 on penalties.

Les Herbiers have qualified for the French Cup semis for the first time and they will be joined by PSG or Marseille, Chambly or Strasbourg and Caen or Lyon in the last four.

The other last eight ties are scheduled to take place on Wednesday and Thursday night.
