Free Agent Robert Green Signs For Chelsea

Former England goalkeeper Robert Green has joined Premier League giants Chelsea on a free transfer.

The 38-year-old became a free agent this summer after he was released by Huddersfield Town, where he didn’t feature at all last season.

The former Norwich City and West Ham United shot stopper has penned a one-year deal with Chelsea.

He becomes the Blues’ second signing of the summer after Italian midfielder Jorginho joined the Stamford Bridge outfit from Napoli.

In his first interview as a Chelsea player, the 12-cap England international told the club’s website that: “It has been a whirlwind 24 hours.”

You are thinking about your career and where you want to go and then you get a phone call like this – and it is a short conversation.

“It has been a pretty dramatic time for me and it is a thrill and an honour to be here.” He concluded.
