Frank Talk! Eagles Strikers Are Better Than Abraham – Former England International

Former England striker John Fashanu has disclosed that the current crop of Super Eagles strikers are better than Swansea City star Tammy Abraham.

Abraham was courted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with the hope that he will play for the Super Eagles but he has since pledged his international allegiance to England.

He was part of the last England squad for the international friendly games against Germany and Brazil and he ended up featuring in both games. He was in the starting XI for the game against the world champions Germany.

John Fashanu was speaking about Tammy Abraham in a chat with Own Goal as he added that there are better players in the Super Eagles that are better suited to the team’s style of play than the on-loan Chelsea player.

In his words, Fashanu said: “Tammy Abraham took the easy option. He will play regularly for England than Nigeria , where I think they have better players who are suited to the style of play of the team.”

” His case won’t be any different from mine when I was called up but later decided to pursue a career with England. I watched a training session, there and then I decided I don’t belong here.

” The strikers in the Nigerian team are ball to feet type of forwards unlike Abraham who thrives on crosses into the box, the typical English forward style of play.

” You look at Iheanacho (Kelechi) , Iwobi (Alex), Ighalo (Odion), infact the Nigerian forwards in the team now and you will see they share almost similar quality in terms of skill set, sadly Abraham is a typical English forward, he won’t get games even if he opt for Nigeria. ” he concluded.
