Formula One Meets Football

Who wouldn’t love to be a member of one of the greatest football clubs on earth?

Well, after an absolutely frustrating weekend at the Italian Grand Prix, Two-time Formula One world champion, Fernando Alonso put his problems with McClaren aside for a while as he was made an honourary club member by twelve-time UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid.

“I’ve been asked a lot why I support Real Madrid. I’ve never had a clear answer. I am a Real Madrid fan because I am a Real Madrid fan. Neither do I know why my eyes are brown. Real Madrid chose me to be, like millions of people, a fan of this great club. ” Alonso said.

Florentino Perez also praised Alonso. “Fernando is a pioneer,” he said. “A genius who achieved things for our country that nobody had ever achieved before. you are an extraordinary ambassador of our club for all Madrid fans. Your character transcends beyond the circuits. You carry the Spain brand across all continents and also the passion for your beloved Real Madrid. We know what this shirt and this badge means to you”.
