Former EPL Ref Howard Webb Marries German Referee Steinhaus

Former Premier League referee Howard Webb has tied the knot with leading German official Bibiana Steinhaus.

Webb, 49, spent eleven years as a Premier League referee from 2003 to 2014 and officated the World Cup and Champions League finals in 2010.

Steinhaus, now known as Steinhaus-Webb, became the first woman to referee in one of Europe’s top leagues when she took charge in the Bundesliga in 2017.

She retired last year but is still active as a video assistant referee (VAR) in the German top flight.

The pair, who have both worked as police officers and have dated for the last five years married last month.

“We are incredibly happy,” Steinhaus-Webb, 42, told website sport1.de.
