ENGLAND

We begin from the heat of the English premier league as Alex Iwobi’s Arsenal fumbled against lowly Watford at the Vicarage road in their 1-2 away loss to the impressive Hornets side who were without injured Isaac Success.

Iwobi and Arsenal are now 6th on the league table with 3 losses, one draw and 4 wins so far this season after match- day 8.

Meanwhile, Watford’s Success would be looking to revive his career when he returns from the sidelines in two weeks.

Victor Moses failed to complete his 6th game of the season after the winger pulled his hamstring in Chelsea’s 2-1 loss away from home against spirited Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park.

26-year-old Moses who has scored just one goal this season for the Blues in all competition would be missing Chelsea’s next Champions league fixture against AS Roma.

CHAMPIONSHIP

We head now for the English Championship; at the Elland Road, Sone Aluko enjoyed 74 minutes of action for Reading as The Royals ran away with a lone goal victory over 6th placed Leeds United.

The game was Aluko’s 6th of the season for Reading who have just one win in their last 5 games in all competition.

Nigeria’s Ola Aina completed his 12th league game of the campaign for 10-men Hull City who failed to hold on to their solitary goal lead as they conceded late to play out a draw at the Carrow Road.

26-year-old Hope Akpan could not help Burton Albion as Bristol City held them to barren draw in their 12th league fixture this term.

BELGIUM

In the Belgian Pro league, Henry Chukwuma Onyekuru, continued his imperious form for league champions, Anderlecht as the 20-year-old Nigerian grabbed a brace for himself in their 3-4 away victory over KV Mechelen at the AFAS stadium.

The Nigerian forward has continued his blistering for from last season with 6 goals in 9 league appearances for Anderlecht.

The Eagles duo of Henry Uche Agbo and Abdul Ajagun featured for Standard Liege and Kortijk respectively, as the former ended up 3-1 victors over their visitors.

While Ajagun was making his 10th appearance for Kortrijk, Uche Agbo completed his 10th league game for 9th placed Standard Liege.

At the Ghelamco Arena now, it was an all Nigerian affair as the trio of Samuel Kalu, Moses Simon and Anderson Esiti were all impressive to land Gent their second win of the season after a 2-0 home triumph over Waasland-Beveren.

20-year-old Samuel Kalu proved the hero for Gent as he got a brace while Moses Simon provided an assist in what was their first win in 3 league games.

A quick dash to Spain now where Manchester City loanee, Olanrewaju Kayode continued his cameo role with disappointing Girona as they were bettered 1-2 at home against Villareal at the Estadi Municipal de Montilivi.

The 24-year-old was an early second half introduction for 17th placed Girona who recorded their 4th loss of the season with 3 draws and just a win after 8 matches.

GERMANY

In Germany, Super Eagles stalwart defender, Leon Balogun watched the whole match duration from the substitute bench for Mainz 05 as they continued their impressive form with a 3-2 triumph over Hamburger SV.

At the BayArena 18-year-old Victor Osimhen made a late appearance for Wolfsburg as they ended their 8th league fixture in a 2-2 stalemate against Bayer Leverkusen.

AUSTRIA

Former Akwa United midfield maestro, Alhassan Ibrahim saw 90 minutes of action however, could not save his side from a shocking 3-0 demolition in the hands of Austria Bundesliga league leaders, Sturm Graz in their 11th league game of this campaign.

Since his prestigious loan move to Austria, Alhassan has made 4 league starts and has one goal so far.

TURKEY

We head now for Turkish Super ligue where Emem Eduok made a late second half entrance for Kasimpasa who were piped 2-3 at home in the hands of unforgiving Sivasspor who were without the services of injured Elderson Echiejile.

While Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo enjoyed the whole 90 minutes, Eduok was making his 7th of the season and the Esperance loanee player has one goal to his name and 4 yellow cards.

Nigeria Olympic bronze medalist, Okechukwu Azubuike was missing in action for 13th placed Yeni Melatyaspor as they were beat 3-1 away from home against Fenerbahce at the Kuru Saracoglu stadium.

Super Eagles vice captain, Ogenyi Onazi continued his recovery from injury for Trabzonspor as he watched his team suffer a 1-6 white-wash against Akhisar Belediyespor.

We go now to the Konya Buyuksehir stadium where the duo of Imoh Ezekiel and Patrick Eze all tasted action for unfortunate Konyaspor who lost 0-2 against Galatasaray.

ITALY

In Italy, 20-year-old teen sensation, Sadiq Umar made his first league start and first appearance for Torino as he helped The Bull to their 4th stalemate of the campaign after their 2-2 draw against Crotone.

Joel Chukwuma Obi is yet to return to full fitness for the Turin side side his injury last month against Benevento.

CHINA

Finally, in China where Odion Jude Ighalo looks somewhat unstoppable as he grabbed a brace and the match winner for 10-men Changchun Yatai who ran away 2-3 winners for their 9th victory of the season over Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng.

Ighalo boosts of 14 league goals in 25 appearance in his first season in China.

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi received his 3rd yellow card of the season but helped Tianjin Teda who recorded an impressive 1-2 away win over Shanghai Shenhua at the Hongkuo football stadium as they continued their battled for survival.

In that same game meanwhile, Obafemi Martins made his long awaited comeback from injury for Shanghai Shenhua but failed to add to his 7 goal tally this term.
