Flying Eagles Thrash Mauritania To Book AFCON U20 Ticket

Nigeria’s male U20 team, Flying Eagles have booked a spot in next year’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) U20 tournament in Niger Republic following the thrashing of Mauritania in their second leg clash.

Paul Aigbogun’s team pummelled Mauritania 5-0 at the Agege Stadium in Lagos to seal a spot at the 2019 AFCON U20 championship via a 6-1 aggregate win.

Enyimba forward Wasiu Alalade opened the floodgates of goals for his team before Nazifi Yahaya added a brace to give the Flying Eagles a 3-0 at halftime.

Okon Asuquo and Aremu Afeez added further goals in the second half to hand the Nigerians a convincing victory over their opponents.

With the aggregate win, the Flying Eagles have book their spot as one of the eight teams to contest for honours at the 2019 AFCON U20 tournament in Niger Republic.
