Finally! Atlético Madrid To Seal €60m Deal for Diego Costa This Week – Report

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have made a breakthrough in their quest to sign Chelsea outcast Diego Costa.

According to a report from popular Spanish newspaper AS, the Madrid-based outfit are expected to confirm a €60m fee for their former player.

Diego Costa moved from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea in the summer of 2014 in a £32m deal and has won 2 English Premier League (EPL) titles in three seasons.

The Brazilian-born Spanish international is due to undergo a medical on Thursday before being unveiled as an Atletico player in the next few days. He would however be unable to play for Diego Simeone’s side until January.

Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban on signing new players will expire in January but Diego Costa can link up with the squad and regain his fitness after an extended spell out of action.

Diego Costa has been out of action for a while after he was frozen out at the English champions by manager Antonio Conte. He has refused to return to London to train with the reserves and has spent the last few months in his hometown, Lagarto in Brazil.
