Nigeria U17 national team coach Manu Garba has reportedly cut Fawaz Abdullahi, Shedrack Tanko, Mayowa Abayomi and Ogaga Oduko from his final 21-man Golden Eaglets squad for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.

Football website owngoalnigeria.com reports that Garba, who coached Nigeria to the title in 2013, retained a bulk of the players that finished in fourth place at the U17 AFCON in Tanzania.

Garba had arrived Brazil early with a 25-man squad for the final leg of preparations ahead of the tournament which kicks off on October 26.

As part of their preparations for the tournament, the team played two friendly games, losing 2-1 to Sao Paulo FC and defeating South Korea 4-2 with the performances helping Garba decide the makeup of his final squad.

Record five-time winners Nigeria have been drawn with Hungary, Ecuador and Australia in Group B. They kickstart their campaign on 26 October against Hungary.
