FIFA U-17 World Cup Second Round Wrap: Germany, US Through To Quarters After Big Wins

Germany and the United States are through to the quarterfinal stage at the ongoing FIFA u- 17 World Cup in India after they secured wins over Colombia and Paraguay respectively in their second round games.

Jann-Fiete Arp scored a brace for the Germans on the way to a 4-0 demolition of South American side Colombia in the first round of 16 clash and now has 4 goals in this tournament. Yann Aurel Bisseck and John Yeboah got the other goals for Germany, who will now face the winner of Wednesday’s match between Brazil and Honduras in the quarterfinal.

In the second round of 16 match, the United States (US) thrashed another South American side in Paraguay 5-0 through goals from Timothy Weah, who netted a hattrick, Andrew Carleton and Josh Sargent. The team will next face either England or Japan in the next round.
