20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer will regain the World number one spot from French Open champion Rafael Nadal when the new rankings are released on Monday following his semi-final win over Nick Krygios at the Stuttgart Open.
Federer, 36, didn’t do things his own way as he had to recover from a set down to see off his Australian opponent 6-7 (2-7) 6-2 7-6 (7-5).
He will now face Milos Raonic of Canada in Sunday’s final after he defeated defending champion Lucas Pouille in straight sets.
World number 35 Raonic defeated the French player 6-4 7-6 (7-3) to book his spot in the final of the Mercedes Cup (Stuttgart Open).
