Super Falcons have moved closer to booking a spot at the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana after they secured a slender lead over hosts Gambia.

The defending champions defeated Gambia 1-0 courtesy Amarachi Okonkwo’s 19th minute strike in the first leg of the final round of qualifiers played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, Gambia.

Both sides meet again at the Soccer Temple in Agege, Lagos for the second leg to determine who will qualify for this year’s AWCON in Ghana.
