Falconets Edge Closer To France 2018 After Important Win Over Basetsana

Nigeria’s female U20 team, Falconets, have moved closer to booking a place at the U20 Women’s World Cup in France later this year after a crucial 2-0 win over the Basetsana of South Africa at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

In-form Rasheedat Ajibade netted her 8th goal of the qualifiers to give Nigeria the lead on the half hour mark before fellow forward Anam Imo added a second goal five minutes later.

The team thereafter held on to their advantage to secure a very good 2-0 win over South Africa.

Both teams meet again in their second leg clash in Nigeria on January 27 with the Falconets in a fantastic position to book a World Cup slot.
