Falconets Continue Winning Run In Austria Ahead Of World Cup

Nigeria’s national female U20 team, Falconets continue to prepare for the upcoming FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup in the best way possible after the team maintained its winning run on their training tour of Austria.

Christopher Danjuma and his girls have been in the European nation for the better part of July in preparation for the aforementioned tournament scheduled to take place in France from August 5 through to August 24.

Falconets thrashed Austrian women’s top flight league side, FC Wacker Innsbruck 4-0 in the latest friendly in Tirol on Saturday to take their training tour record to seven goals scored and no goal conceded in two matches.

The team’s star player Rasheedat Ajibade scored a brace in addition to further strikes from Adebisi Saheed and Chinyere Igboamalu to make it a comprehensive victory for Nigeria in the presence of Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung.

Christopher Danjuma and his girls had beaten another Austrian side FC Bergheim 3-0 in a friendly clash played some days earlier.

Falconets are in Group D in France alongside three-time world champions Germany, Haiti and China People’s Republic (China PR).
