FA Cup: Kelechi Iheanacho Fires Leceister Into Final

Kelechi Iheanacho scored his 10th goal in seven games to fire Leicester City past Southampton in the FA Cup semifinals in front of 4,000 fans at Wembley on Sunday.

The red-hot Nigerian striker who’s the top-scoring African in FA Cup history with 14 goals scored the game’s only goal in the 55th-minute.

The 24-year-old fired home at the second time of asking from Jamie Vardy’s cut-back after his initial effort was blocked by a defender.

The Foxes will play Iheanacho’s former side Manchester City in the final on 15 May at Wembley.

Iheanacho’s renaissance this season means he becomes the first Nigerian to score 15 goals for an English club since Odion Ighalo scored 17 goals in 2015/16 for Watford.

Iheanacho is now Leicester’s top scorer this season with 15 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions. The Super Eagles forward has also notched three assists for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season.
