Expected Eagles Starting XI vs. Algeria

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr is expected to make six changes for the team’s final World Cup qualifier against the Fennec Foxes of Algeria on Friday.

His team has been weakened by withdrawals from key players like Victor Moses, Ogenyi Onazi and many more prompting the previously mentioned changes from the team that negotiated the 1-0 win over Zambia last month.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have already qualified for the World Cup in Russia next year as Group B winners meaning that the game against Algeria is a ‘dead rubber’.

After the Algeria game, the team will take on 2-time world champions Argentina in an international friendly slated for the Krasnodar Stadium in Russia on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

As for the starting XI against Algeria, Ikechukwu Ezenwa is expected to continue in goal while highly rated defender Ola Aina will replace Elderson Uwa Echiejile at left back.

In midfield, John Ogu and Oghenekaro Etebo are set to replace John Mikel Obi (captain) and Ogenyi Onazi while Ogu’s club teammate, Anthony Nwakaeme, and Arsenal star Alex Iwobi replaces Victor Moses and Moses Simon.

Expected Starting XI (4-3-3): Ikechukwu Ezenwa; Ola Aina, Shehu Abdullahi, Leon Balogun , William Troost-Ekong; John Ogu, Wilfried Ndidi, Oghenekaro Etebo; Kelechi Iheanacho, Anthony Nwakaeme and Alex Iwobi.
