The decision to move the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final to Madrid means that Exequiel Palacios will get to play at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu much sooner than expected.
The River Plate midfielder is due to join Real Madrid in January or in June, with a transfer almost finalised, and will play for his current side against Boca Juniors at the ground he’ll soon call home.
Following a quiet first leg, he’ll need to show up in the second meeting ahead of his move to Europe.
With class, personality and character, the 20-year-old is certainly capable of wowing the crowd in Madrid, some of whom will soon be seeing him on a regular basis.
He has also seen the Valdebebas facilities this week, as that’s where River Plate have trained ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster match.
